Plants have long been our teachers in the healing arts. In this workshop, we explore another way they speak to us, through line, pigment, and paper, remembering that art and healing are simply two languages for the same relationship.
Rooted in Tony(a)’s philosophy of Art that Breathes, this four-session workshop invites herbalists, plant lovers, and creative seekers to engage with plants not only as remedies, but as creative companions. Through simple creative practices, the making of a handmade artist book, and eco-printing with botanical materials, pigment making, we will explore how plants can guide the creative process and leave their own traces upon the page.
Together, we will create a personal artist book that becomes a living record of these encounters where plant forms, impressions, and reflections gather over time. Rather than focusing on artistic skill, the emphasis is on attention, curiosity, and the cultivation of a deeper relationship with the living world.
Participants will leave with new creative practices, a handmade book filled with botanical marks, and a renewed sense of how art can become another pathway for listening to the wisdom of plants. Over time, the page itself begins to breathe, holding the traces of plants, attention, and relationship.
You will learn:
How creative practice can deepen their relationship with plants.
Foundational techniques for creating a handmade artist book that can serve as a personal space for botanical observation, reflection, and creative exploration.
A simple eco-printing process using botanical materials to create natural impressions and integrate plant marks and pigment into their artist books.
This workshop series will be recorded, and the replays will be available to all registrants.
